I just read a little article suggesting that Milwaukee is a great O’Hare alternative. While yes, Milwaukee is more mainstream, the far better alternative is Rockford. Sure, the list of destinations is limited, but if you’re flying to Denver or anywhere United flies to in that direction (or any of the numerous vacation spots other airlines fly to), it can’t be beat. There’s only one security checkpoint that usually has no line, a little snack bar, free WiFi and possibly most importantly, free parking. There’s also a nice regional bus run by Van Galder that goes from various points in Chicago (and Madison) to Rockford.

Now don’t you *all* start using Rockford and start creating long lines :)
